VISIT SMITH MOUNTAIN LAKE’S STATE PARKS – http://traveltips.usatoday.com/state-parks-smith-mountain-lake-29164.html
Although only one Virgina state park is on the shores of Smith Mountain lake, two memorial parks are a short distance away and offer excursions to historic sites off the lake. Visitors can turn back the clock to what “Time” magazine dubbed “The Greatest Day” with a visit to the D-Day Memorial or step back further in time at Booker T. Washington’s birthplace.
